Jen and I took the dogs to McKinney roughs for a great hike! Many different ecosystems on the hike and we saw a whole new crop of wild flowers as the spring moved on..

The Willow City loop came to a close.. the shadows got long and we were ready for a bite to eat. I called ahead and got a reservation at the Creekside in Dripping springs another 45 minutes down the road.. and it was great! But we still saw some amazing sites before leaving the valley..

We are actually getting a little more rain. Maybe about 1 inch so far in May, and that is 1 inch more than we got in all of April!

Here we see a few more shots from the Willow City loop.. we are about 3/4 of the way through the amazing trip..

Willow City Loop

After the big hike to Gorman falls, Jen and I and her Grandmother went for a Wildflower drive. The Willow City loop is a collection of back roads in the Texas hill country that passes classic terrain to support wild flowers.. mostly ranches and range land. Its stunning and we had a great time, traveling for the better part of 6 hours looping all the way to Fredericksburg and back to Austin..
