Beach Skeleton

August 11, 2014 by Dogger

When we started hiking on the beach on the Bolivar Peninsula we ran into some biologists doing an autopsy on a logger head turtle, they were part of a turtle rescue team. After saying hi we hiked off and cam by a skeleton on the beach…it was in a circle and looked like a possible turtle.. so I hiked back and grabbed the biologists for a look see.. Turned out it was a adolescent north american alligator that had possibly drowned and all was OK on the Turtle front.. but a neat discovery.

What the Skeleton looked like when we found it.
